    If you apply for a credit card and....

    If you apply for a credit card online and they say....

    "Thank you for applying for an Accucard credit card.

    We have received your application and are sorry that we were not able
    to process it immediately. We will write to you shortly with our
    decision."

    That means i'm declined right? I just bought a new car that cost £18,000 and I have a Gold card already with my own bank, but I have been turned down for a credit card before.

              yes you got bounced and which ever of the 3 bureaus they used will send you a typical letter sayin the reason(s) for decline

                  Just means someone has to do the credit check on it. If you had a few requests on your credit in the last 2-3 months, then that would be normal that it is flagged for a human to verify it. Just in case you are 'desperately' trying to get credit - it's generally a sign that there is trouble.

                          Sounds like you were denied. THey will send you a denial letter by snail mail. When you get this letter it will have the credit agency that they got their information from.

                          Call them and get a copy of your redit report. Its free of charge if you have been denied. I would also call atleast two others, like Equafax, etc.

                          Each agency may have show items on your credit. There may be something on there that you are unaware of, or maybe you already have to much on your credit as it is. (car payments, mortgage, credit card, etc.)

                          Either way, getting a copy of your credit report will help to clear that up.

                          Good luck! I know it can be a hassle.

                              Truth is i'm not really bothered if they offer it to me anyway. I just thought i would transfer the balance from my other card. I intend to pay it off over the next 6 months and there's 0%apr for 6 months on this new card.

                              You also earn cashback on purchases which is quite cool. I will bump it and tell you if it was declined....

                              Like you give a fuck though...

                                  watch balance transfers as some see it as using 1 cc to pay off another cc. Wifes been in the mtg biz for 15 years, we seen it all

                                                      i love how credit card companys will call and say your approved, do the application, they say your rejected, then you get about 5 other credit card companys and junk mail. Gotta love it
