Has Bradshaw ever done anything Original?

or has his pattern been to always copy someone elses success, then act like he is smarter than everyone else?

Since he's admitted openly that he hasn't... I think this is kind of a pointless thread.

Oh, and I think that also indicates what my answer would be

        in this industry?

few have, but that does not mean people arent.

as soon as an idea is seen on this board, 10-20 people are copying it... Brad Shaw is one of them, look at his new board, and his old sites, geez...he even gets ideas from Pimpdogg!!

it is a little difficult to come up with an original idea in 2004. I always love reading threads talking about some "new idea, never been done before."

However, I think B0ardtracker and StatsRemote were pretty original

I was the first sponsor to pay on cross sells. We paid our webmasters for epoch cross sells off the join pages.

I also feel our private biz board and rewards board program are unique ideas.

Other than that, I have copied people who are successful. Consider it the "brad shaw" business model. Some of you may want to look into it. Very few people are Marc De caliber. I am certainly not.

How many billion is Microsoft worth now-a-days?

Microsoft spots developing companies with good ideas that have
already done the hard work and buys them. The old CEO
becomes a MS manager and together they shoot for the sky.

Product development and innovation cost money and are risky.

One idea might make you a million this year,
but what is going to be your new idea next year?

If other people come up with 20 great ideas a year that are
tested and working.... Why not just jump on the bandwagon?

Personally I spend more time trying new things, however these
new things always consist of a huge amount of other peoples
discoveries. Without other people making mistakes and success
how would I know what risk I'm taking on a new project?

btw Brad.... Still think of the password trader wars you had on
ynot whenever your name comes up. Argued with 14 year olds
                      for how many months? :-)

There's nothing wrong with copying something and adding your own flavor to it. Happens every day. I used to be in the apparel manufacturing business. The whole industry is one big knockoff of whatever gets hot each season.

shouldn't someone with a little more stature be asking this question?

Stupid poll. Personally I'll take hard cash over originality any day. For every successful person with an 'original idea' there's a 100 in the gutter.
                              Ignorance is never bliss.

So many webmasters don't respect a good reach around these days.
Brad is old school, when a reach around was better than a hand shake.

I find it odd how so much is stock is placed in being original that if you use a previous idea you are frowned upon.

Don't tell me that no one has heard of the "doing it better" approach. The trick is to take something that is sucessful and going that one step further....that is not bad...that is good!

imitation is the highest form of flattery.

why re-invent the wheel? if someone else has a good idea, take it and run with it.

ALL GOOD IDEAS ARE STOLEN. <a teacher taught me that in college.
