    what should I buy? VX2100 or PD170

    Is the PD170 worth an extra $800 for the XLR audio jacks? Is that going to come in handy? I do content production... I haven't used any fancy mics yet but it has been considered.

                  the 170 can also record in DVCAM mode... 40mins per tape
                  but alot less chance of dropout
