need pricing help for new site (pics)

okay, I've been doing a plain vanilla adult site for a while now, but I have partnered with a photographer to develop and maintain a 100% exclusive gothic niche site with this model, so this is a new area for me and I could use some help.

She already has a following, so to maximize rebills I'd like to launch with $19.99 per month. Would 10 sets of 60 pics each at launch plus weekly updates justify $19.99? One problem is the model doesn't have a PC, but we hope to involve her in the site (answer emails, maybe a blog, maybe a chat every once in a while). How much would you be willing to pay? Any other advice on pricing strategy?

Very artistic stuff. I like it. I'd consider the fact that since it's an artistic site rather than a porn site, the pricing could be 19.99 for 10 sets. I mean, for a porn site it would be a little steep but since what you're offering is a little bit more specialized than the average porn site, you might appeal to customers that are willing to spend that amount.

Another thing to consider is the fact that customers don't pay recurring for the current content, they're paying for the updates. So just make sure you update weekly at least.

At first I didn't understand this, but now I'm guessing you mean this niche is starting to take off. Couldn't say, just the stars aligned themselves recently for me to land this opportunity. On a personal level, I like this much more than my current plain vanilla site.

Hmmm... That Crow girl doesn't get particularly naked, so I'm not sure how much you could get away with charging, particularly if she's not terribly involved. I know the folks I guess you would call a following, or her fans or whatever, and they would certainly know if the blogs and stuff were less than real. But, I've always thought she was super pretty and her photographer always seems to get some nice artistic stuff.

Hmm ... I get what you're trying to do.

The goth niche is sweet, it's something about that style that attracts people. Yet they usually have nothing good to say about it. I should know ;)

I think $19.95 is a little much for 600 pics, but it depends on the quality of the material ... the updates, if the girl in question interacts with the members. Will there be other models avaliable?

If you make sure to keep the site fresh I might work with that price tho. However I don't just mean update with "a new set" every week, ya need to think about what type of sets you do. There is a lot of different "styles" amongs gothic people, try to get it all out there ... I'm sure that babe will know what I mean.

Most gothic sites I've seen so far has been kinda boring, the oldies still has it ... but many of the new ones (as usual with niche sites) doesn't really care about the feeling of the site. They just make it look a bit evil, a bit slutty and figure that'll do it.

Maybe it will maybe it wont, I for one only find that shit attractive when it's well done. Because of all the accessories and all the make-up etc. etc. gothic babes can look REEEEEEEALLY sexy but it's a thin line between what's sexy and what looks STUPID with such extreme styles.

Uhh, having major computer issues so I gotta run, but ehm ... whatever I just wrote I hope it made sence.

$14.99 could be a good deal ... it LOOKS a lot cheaper, below what most sites charges. Will be great for recurring if you can keep delivering new interesting stuff to the members

excellent, unique photography does sell. your leader shot is terrific.

if you only have 600 pics i would suggest making them large and very high quality for the broadband surfer who will be using them to make his own inkjet prints or screensavers.

this will not be a jackoff site, and needs to be marketed differently.

it is an "art" site, and if you have access to original raw camera files create a boutique gallery where you sell limited edition prints signed by the girl for about $49-79. give the model a share in these proceeds to encourage her to keep working.

IMO you will do approx the same number of sales whether the price is 12.95 or 19.95, do not go above 19.95.

as someone here said the key is in regular updating.

i'd say start it off at $14.95 for the first 2-3 months, build up a member base with more updates, and then raise the price to $19.95.

i'd also suggest buying the model a computer and keeping her involved in the site. she could do interactive chats, webcam shows, etc and that will retain members.

Most of them just look like they are trying to do the same thing that they saw someone else doing already, with no regard to the fanbase, culture, etc. But, Doomsday shoots nice stuff with Crow.
