Their military could give the US one hell of a fight. The major difference between the two nations is the lack of diplomatic influence. The US meddles in the internal affairs of virtually every nation on Earth, they have military bases everywhere, they have alliances and deals with every country. This allows them to get away with murder (literally). China, on the other hand, is pretty much isolated.
