reading and learning and hard work.

i do not use any tricks. it took me 4 months to build my 40 sites and to learn the little SEO i know.

if you use tricks you will eventually get caught.

btw, i sell hardlinks and such, see sig

There isn't any tricks....carefull keyword planning and good hardlink trades help..

I wasnt talking about tricks that would get you banned for. Just tricks tgp's play on webmasters....

Tricks that I know:

ALWAYS Use H1 tags - even if you use CSS To manipulate it (like the Image-Replacement teqniques) - Google LOVES H1 Tags!

Structure over style: Search Engines love small html pages - make sure to have your CSS Create the style and don't skimp out on the H1, H2, H3, P, and Use Lists (UL, OL) as your Navigation.

The more dynamic your sites content is - the more often search engine spiders will hit your site.

Meta Tags: USE THEM and Use Them Wisely

That's just what I've learned so far.... I will give more info on Landing pages (fake SE Collection pages) when im sober enough to type

I think W_L meant legal tricks, not just black hat stuff.

I suspect that a lot of the little details are kept quiet. They come out a little at a time, so it takes time to catch on to a lot of them. Networking with other webmasters helps. Reading the boards does too. That's the work part others talked about.

Here's one and you'll call it spam. Have a TGP, throw in some live cam thumbs from Lar's Cam site. The click threw on them is good and his program is top notch.

Sign up using my sig and I get a 10% override on your sales. Legendary Lar's is in my sig because I think those that signup will convert and will make more money than if I had sold my sig.

After signup, read the webmaster site in detail to learn how to code to get exactly what you want. My ICQ is under location to the left if you have questions. Maybe in a month that banner will be in your sig too?
