    Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop

    Why is Photoshop quoted all the time?

    Paint Shop Pro is cheaper and seems to do most things.

    I love Paint Shop Pro. What can Photoshop offer that Paint Shop Pro cannot do?

      it got imageready and works flawlessy with illustrator and the complete adobe suite...far better plug-in filters also

          They are both excellent graphics programs. Photoshop is by far the most complex and has become the de facto industry standard since its used by most DTP professionals.

                  Thats true, but everybody seems to use it for stuff that Paint Shop Pro will do.

                  I think many do stuff in Paint Shop Pro, then when they tell others they say PhotoShop just to sound good.

                          Well, let me put it this way: I've worked with Photoshop for seven years now, I'm a certified expert, etc ... why would I want to touch PSP?

                          Photoshop has one very distinctive advantage for me: PRODUCTIVITY. If you know the shortcuts and the routines, you can gain incredible advantage over other graphic artists. I have seen some designers who have worked longer than me and they still use the mouse to select Image/ImageSize from the menu ... it's ALT + I, I, damn it!

                          So it's a matter of professionalism really, not a matter of software packages.

                              Allan I dont mean to dis ya but sometimes man u really dont know what you are talking about.

                              A good tradesman always uses the best tools, in this case Adobe make the best, premier for editing, aftereffects for post prodduction, photoshop well we all know what it does.

                              For an editor i would say dreamweaver is the best ive used and flash.

                              Try spending more time designing and learning than posting such messages, you wont need to then.
                              SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

                                  I don't know how it is now, but layer styles were much easier in photoshop than in paint shop pro. That's why I made the switch.
