There are enough sponsor hosted galleries out there to make a huge tgp. Then just trade traffic or hard code links.

Quite a few TGPs do actually charge for gallery placement, at least top position gallery placement.
Some, like Sublime Directory, require one of their affiliate links in the thumbnail gallery you submit.Sugar Cash pays and pays and pays.Comment

First you need that raise traffic on your TGP - trade with another TGP, invite new submitters.
After that you can sell:
1. Best spots on the top of your TGP for VIP submitters (some TGP already practice it)
2. Place banners of your spons
3. Sell trafficSIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.Comment

If you get enough traffic, you're going to make a sale sooner or later. I've been informed that TGP's are a long term investment, you need to spend a while building up the traffic before you see a good return.
I imagine if you can get your TGP high in the SE rankings, you'd get pretty good, targetted traffic. Work on that, and link trades etc....
Stick with it.

I make more money off my adult toy store than my ads, granted I dont have the heavy traffic like a lot of sites out there..
I also make most of my money in a phone sex project. Cheap and super easy to set up, all profit if you know how to advertise.
