haven't looked in the vbulletin scripts but I guess if you put in the right variable it will be changed to the username.
although I'd consider it a flaw in the script if the sigs were processed in the same way as the rest of the pages.

no idea...SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.Comment

hmm.. an image generated by a script in your sig wont do it..
because the script would have to analyze the referring url (or gfy)
but since the script will query GFY with its own session
(instead of the session the querying user is using) that wont produce any useable data..
