I think a lot of her anger towards you was that deep down she knew something just wasn't right but she was desperate to try and convince herself everything was legit. You trying to convince her otherwise made her angry, she didn't want to hear it, she didn't want to sound like a fool for believing it ...so she came up with all this crock of shit about checking them out ....
As for the part of her checking to make sure the check was good and it was....hell you can't confirm a check is good until it hits the bank. A person can have 4,000 bucks in their account on Mon, but on Tues when you go to cash their 10 buck check it bounces because the money is gone.
She will probably end up responsible for paying back the funds when the check bounces....and from the way you spoke to her I hope that you don't run to her rescue. Yes, it will be a very hard lesson for her to learn, but one that she needs to learn. If you help her financially it will just teach her that even when she messes up the people that warned her will "fix it" and that is the worst thing you could do for her.Comment
