A final point, the design is also optimized for and available as an Avalon resource defined in Xaml. Pre-ready for use on the next wave of Microsoft Windows, on the chance you might do something with YouBeenX.com like what Amazon has done with it's site:

I think I wasn't the only one waiting since the contest was supposed to stop hours ago.
If I have a one day deadline I am able to work with that. If I have a few days time I can work with that too, but the results will be different...
As you have skipped the deadline I guess you weren't pleased with the results so far. If this is the case try next time to give an even more specific design brief so that one can work up on that.
Further you shouldn´t expect that out of thin air anyone will match your expectations right on top. Normaly this is a step by step process that needs a little dedication from both sides the designer and the client.
I think there are some serious entries so far that one could work out further and tweak them a little. If You look at my scetch you will see that the character for Dr.X could be easily changed as well as the colour.
Same is true for some other entries as well. But I for one will not spend further time on "guessing what´s hot".

It looks like you have been successful at two things. Making simple look awful, and locking Rice_Master into a font and a single shape.
What makes your entry stand out in the never-ending sea of "basic" company logos? Maybe put it on a 'retarded guy'. That may draw some attention to it.

There are a ton of really, really, really great entires that have been posted. Starting right off the bat with snipah7's. I think Rice_Master might have underestimated the amount of talent on GFY.
Maybe they guy is putting together a focus group or something to help judge.
You are right though, logo design is a step by step process that needs client input from the concepts to the final render. We really are all grasping at straws.

i don't want to get into a pissing match, i saw you passing judgement on others and thought I'd speak for them, although I may have done it a bit harsch with the retarded skull remark.
your ideas seem logical, although i don't agree with you on my logo. i like to think of it as simple (which is best), yet style'ish.
keep tryin though, it just seems as though you need to develop your design skill to match your ego. it will probably take a couple years.. but you'll get there.

Here's a little something that i put together that actually portrays something about a DATING site that catches the eye of a person and tells them its a dating site and not cartoons, etc.

"Just an update on img5. This server has been having issues over the last few weeks. The hard disk compleletely crashed last night. The server is being re-imaged and new drives put in. Not sure when this will be done, as the data copy is very slow. I'm sorry to those of you that this has effected. Unfortunately technology isn't perfect.
