ive never been a donor (too much radiation) but the initial screening is not much more than a blood test. If you get past that part then i believe there is a bone marrow biopsy performed... but im not positive...
The harvesting of the stem cells from the donor is done in a couple of ways, either by sucking the bone marrow out of your spine and hip bones or purging the stem cells from your blood through a machine for a day or so. Then these stem cells are induced into the recipient...
