I think google tries to eliminate abnormal optimisation.
It's not really normal to use certain phrase like 100 times per page. So synonyms come into play. No more easy manipulating.
Have you seen any book or newspaper which repeates the same phrase over and over, i haven't. They try to find synonyms.

they put my worst spammy additions on top and plunged all my legit pages to the bottom of the heap. LOL

Overall my traffic will stay almost the same, so it doesnt really bother me.

Well it was a kick in the ass here. We enjoyed some sweet placement before the latest re-index. They are still slapping us around from page 1 to not listed on sore important keywords.

I don't think Google is finished yet as the title listed is our old one (changed about two weeks ago).

This kick in the backside is causing us to be more aggressive about what we should have been doing all along.

We also took a hit on PR ? PR5 to PR4. We quickly responded with the things you do to up PR. It will take a bit for Google to really beware of our efforts.

Well there is one or two - the noindex or robots.txt. If you screw up the robots.txt file, you screw your self.

AND if the syntax is wrong on the noindex or none -- Google will assume noindex, follow. The documentation says this meta tag IS CASE sensitive. Don't know if I believe that?
