    Dealing with MPEGs

We have been through around 10 or so programs, and trying to edit these damn Mpegs is proving a wee bit more than I bargained for ;)

What do you guys use to convert movies into mpeg. Its not the conversion thats a problem, its the shrinking the size that is the problem. Most of the utilities and programs bloat the file size up to something huge, or throw away certian key frames.

So whats good to shrink these mpeg files ?

Try the program that embeds a blockproof popup in your clips. Just enter how long the movies are and they all get clipped up into mpeg format.

    Easy as pie.

I forgot the name but the link's been around.

i don't quite understand what you are trying to do, but Cleaner XL is useful to encode digital video (DV AVI files) into MPEG-1.

TMPGEnc Plus and related apps http://www.pegasys-inc.com/ are useful to encode into and split MPEG files.

This is one of the reasons why I moved away from mpeg and over to wmv9+

File size is much better... and the video is fantastic...

        Only DIVX is better...
