    Google to launch own broswer

Sorry if been posted before. Spare me your flames if so.

Evidence is growing that may support rumors that the preeminent search company plans to introduce a Google-branded Web browser down the road. Among the clues are a domain-name registration, a patent application and several recent hires.

From what I understand mozilla would have something to do in the first place. didn't read it yet, just skimmed through

IE will always own. it will have to be a 100% IE based clone to even compete. google is nice for searching but what can they possibly do different putting Google Ads all over it? input web address site loads... what else is there no one really cares about what else is going on.

Hopefully they give us a stable and secure browser... but that maybe is hoping for too much.

stable? IE doesn't crash i can't remember the last time IE crashed on me. i usually have around 5-9 IE browsers open at a time. i just don't get it, what's there reasoning for a web broswer. user just wants to get to a web page IE doing it fine. it's kind of like there google desktop bar its nice but you're browser window is usually already open.

the google search IE bar is the only useful thing

they have email and search, a browser could be a good addition to their product mix.

IE will always dominate the Internet only because Windows is so popular and IE comes standard on it.

IE is stable and I can't remember the last time it crashed on me. I've tried Firefox and was't overly impressed. It had some neat features but it was just another browser.

Google is moving into new areas with their email, etc. But I dobut it will ever take on M$.

competing against microsoft isn't the best move, but i think google can grab enough of the market to make it worthwhile. they're cool right now and they could build upon that, plus up to this point they've executed their plans very well. i doubt they're gunning for the #1 spot in the browser market, especially over the next while.
