:2cents Hurricane Reporting

This being the fourth hurricane in about as many weeks, us in other parts of the country can merely watch on national cable news networks. Let me pose one simple question:

WHAT IN THE HELL are they doing sending out their reporters, right on the "damage path," and waiting for the worst part of the storm, then throwing a camera in front of them. The poor reporter almost gets blown away by the wind, swept away by the waves, pummelled by the rain, or smacked by debri blowing around.... AND THEN ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS.... "What do you think the aftermath will be?"

THE REPORTER CAN'T EVEN STAND UP STRAIGHT FROM THE STORM.... and they ask what he thinks about the aftermath.... I just saw this on MSNBC.

By the way, another favorite is the part where in Frances, a reporter was riding around in the news vehicle showing damage saying "The police are saying DO NOT DRIVE"

Are we really that sick and demented in America to watch other people's misfortunes in action, or is it worse that they try to exploit it for ratings?

I hate rubberneckers, and all promoters of it...
