Traveling costs.. hmm what if I wanted to travel to you? I no longer have my studio, so I would love to go to someone else's to get some new looks for my site.

im trying to become a professional but how do you expect me to get any experiance when my wife keeps waking up before i take any pics? work with me people!

Tom Mayes charges about $300-$350 an hour for exclusive photos for your site only...It's not cheap at all.

If you wanna come to Vegas I will charge you a day rate, depending on what you need. I have 4 or 5 sets you can use. I just got a house also so you can shoot there. I dont really need anything for my portfolio tho

Sorry about your situation. Have you tried some of the Vancouver content producers? You might be able to work something out with them.

Not yet, this is the first reaching out for info I've done.

If you are going to a pro, you can expect rates like:

$100/hr shooting
$65 makeup
$1.50/image web ready

And the pros are not used to banging out content. They consider 30 good images in a hour, about right.

Best to stick to guys who shoot content seriously.

If you ever make it to Toronto, I am sure we can work something out that is a win/win.

And on Nov 16, the ex moves out, and I will have a spare bedroom for visitors!

I do my own makeup, and my own photo processing, so all I would need is a CD of the raw files and I would be perfectly happy. But 30 pics an hour.. that's not good. I can usually do about 2.5 shoots an hour, which works out to about 200 pictures. Hrm.

Thats why I do a content trade. I just cant fathom spendng thousands of dollars for photos..not that the phtog is not worth it. I just have too many kids and am pretty frugal with my cash.

I think Paul said it, you are looking at around $1,000 a day and upwards.

We have expensive equipment, skills that can't be learnt in an afternoon and can earn $1,000 a day shooting for ourselves.

If you're ever in Czech I will throw in lunch and the make up artist for free.

We employ a full time M/U girl and there's a restaurant next door.

Ask to see samples of their work first and be sure what they are shooting is what you want, we all have different styles.

adult/glamour photographers don't need anything for their 'portfolio', hobbyists and beginners do. there are a ton of hobbyist nude photographers, many who are very good, out there who would probably love to do a shoot with you. maybe some near you.

Your best bet would be to do a barter deal with a photographer who has his own paysite where you can shoot sets for your site, sets for his site - you get content , he gets content.

Elli - I am for hire at a usual day rate of $500 - I am in LA - vancouver is not that far away really - it could be a worthwhile trip for you - there are a lot of shooters here - I don't try to do more than two or three sets a day - I shoot a lot of pics - you will walk away with strong and unique solo sets - you can own the pics outright for a larger fee but the $500 rate I get to use the sets for my website redezra.com - if interested let's talk - there are a lot of shooters out there - I'm sure you will find the price range and style you are looking for.

im a semi-pro... meaning i don't make my living off photogrpahy yet, but am slowly working towards it... from fashion and fine art nude to club events and stock photography.

as a general rule of thumb... no photographer i know shoots on an hourly basis, its impossible to do, for several reasons. as listed above, one photographer shoots 30 pix an hour, you claim to shoot 200 an hour. each photographer works at a differant pace, and outfit changes, lighting adjustments and location changes all factor into the time. if it were i getting paid by the hour, i would drag it out (within reason) for what i could.

that said... you want exclusive content for your site... and you want all raw digital files, so you can expect to pay upwards of $10 per image, regardless of whether or not you use it, simply because you want them all. this is outside traveling exspenses, makeup artists, clothing, etc. this is just for the shoot itself.

depending on the traffic of your site, and the potential generated income you stand to earn from said shoot, the price can vary to as low as $2/image to as high as $20-50/image.

photographers arnt stupid (not that im saying you are calling them stupid) - we know full and well what any person at any given time stands to profit (money and or exposure) from the work we provide... and most pro's will expect to be paid what they are worth.

because you do plan to post prcoess the photos yourself, you may save a few bux, but some photographers won't give you raw unedited photos, simply because they may have a way of doing it that they feel is best and don't like their work being out there in a way that may not depict themselvs in the best of light
