The best service I ever had from a car dealer was at Sewell Cadillac/Hummer in Dallas.
The worst was at Courtesy Mercedes in Tyler, Tx. The pissed my wife off so much that she bought a BMW instead even though she really wanted a Mercedes.
Towbin Hummer in Las Vegas is in 2nd place for the worst.Comment

I know this woman who walked into a BMW dealer. Mid to late twenties. Really high paying job also but she walked in with her hair tied up and a pair of joggers on her day off. she checked out the cars a bit, got no help whatsoever. When she asked one of the salesmen if she could test drive it he just said 'well..are you a serious buyer? because only serious buyers can test drive it'
she was stunned. she stormed out of there. drove down a little further and walked into a benz dealership. Very helpful, she got to test drive it. She was impressed with the car and the service so she told the salesman she would buy it CASH on one condition. That he call his little friends down the street at the BMW dealer and tell them
'do you remember that lady that walked in about an hour ago asking for a test drive? well she just paid cash for a mercedes'
i would have loved to have been there.
i cant wait to do shit like that.Comment

It's to be expected.
I bought my Audi a6 last year I was 19, didn't have a single soul look at me. If I wasn't so into the car I would have left to another dealearship. Ended up paying half cash rest financed for 2 years.
While were at it, same thing happend when I went to buy a condo last week, was looking at a 460k model, walked in to meet the real estate agent looking like shit, he shruged me off and told me to come back next week even with my appointment.
Came back the next day, talked to the project manager, got the big bosses phone number and bought it. Fuck the agent he just lost his 6% or whatever he gets.

Had a similar experience a few years ago. When the Dodge Durangos first came out I went to purchase one, the salesman would not budge $1.00 off sticker. So I left, went to the Ford dealer and purchased an Expy. Few hours later I went back to the Dodge dealer and I rubbed it in to the salesman's face that he lost a sale. Boy that was fun..Comment

It's because you are not Chinese. Try going to London Motorcars (very high end in Vancouver) and you can cut the prejudice with a knife.
Needless to say they lost my sale.

I haven't had that exact experience, but when I used to go get my M3 serviced, it was always a pain in the ass. They gave me no respect, and acted like I was some little kid. Then they overcharged out the ass, and they always seemed to break one thing when they were fixing something else.
I am sure there are people that have great experiences, but my times at the dealership were always lengthy, shitty, and expensive.
I've been driving a Saturn a lot lately. Having a bad day?...you can kick the side as hard as you want and it doesn't matter.

7. Laugh as they leave the showroom thinking they have got a real deal.Originally posted by DrinkingHard
My approach to sales.
1. Approach a customer on a personal level, ask tons of questions about what the customer is all about and what they are looking for. Get them talking and feeling positive (people love to talk about themselves).
2. Suggest a product that is tailored to them and explain benefits to customer on how the benefits would work for them personally. (features tell, benefits sell)
3. Handle and overcome objections professionally, always acknowledge their concerns and address them. Never sweep them under the carpet.
4. Ask for the business
5. Thank them for their business and then leave the customer on a personal level.
6. Follow up to make sure product is fitting their needs and set yourself up for future referral business.

8. Go and slag off the last customer to your friends at work.
9. Cash you huge commission check.
10. Divert them to the service dept (who never answer the phone) for any future dealings.Comment

I fucking hate the dealers being all over me with the false salesman bullshit.
"Hello Sir how are you sir" FUCK OFFFFFF
"Have a nice day sir"
It's not sincier and they don't give a fuck.
If i want someone i get them otherwise leave me the fuck alone while i'm looking at the car.
If i want assitance or a test drive I ask.
