Then you have to deal with your little boy saying how come mommy isn't here any more. When's mommy coming back home. Where's mommy? Why are you crying daddy? What's wrong daddy?
And that's the paradox of getting divorced with kids. Your heart and mind need to go on, but the repsonsiblity of being a parent makes you have to deal with your ex every day. Its the worst form of mental torture I can think of. Sitting there listening to who she's met, blah, blah, and my ex went through so many losers in two years it was embarrassing to even listen to. You think you know someone and then you find out you really don't.
So eventually what happens is not so much forgetting her because you simply can not, but just blocking the pain of it all out of your mind and soul.
It does feel good to be single again, but at the same time it really doesn't. Its nice having a family unit, and not being in the singles market in your mid 40's and so many of the women you meet have also just come out of fucked up marriages and that's what they talk about incessently on dates.
Its all really aggravating.

I am single although I have a best friend who is more like a girlfriend and she says I need to take her out more, No lover I dont sleep around (im hypochondriac). Almost got back together with my ex but decided not to fly across the country to his cheating ass after he dated someone else. Never been married but would like to have a family one day- I have one little baby that I love more then anything in the world. I am trying to help him go to a good college one day!
