What is a good percentage to pay an amateur girl if she is working off of commission for a site. I know most of you will recommend paying them per shoot. But what is a good cut for the girls.

There will be a weekly shoot including both pics and movies. Journal will be updated daily by them. Webcam show hasn't been discussed.Originally posted by NinjaSteve

Cam 40% of net.
Make sure you get a minimum requirement form her if you go revshare. For example.. she needs to produce x number of sets and videos to get her percentage of sales. ANd inforce it
But if you can shoot it and pay her a flat rate.. thats the best. Models come and go and long commitments are next to impossible.SIG TOO BIG! Pay them as you go , tried doing this a few times both times were painful. Remember if a model really has her shit together and is hard working she doesnt need us, she can do it herself. The ones you wind up with are lazy, motivated for the minute not the long term.Comment

Any model can build her own site but very few of them know how to get traffic to it. This is why so many amateurs are not doing so well and end up partnering up with other companies later on.Comment

Generally true, but perhaps overly broad - there are amateurs who know how to drive traffic, but perhaps are only *interested* in modeling - and leaving the site building, marketing, etc. to professionals, which allows them the freedom to do as they please without being bogged down in the daily grind...Any model can build her own site but very few of them know how to get traffic to it. This is why so many amateurs are not doing so well and end up partnering up with other companies later on.
As for percentage deals of this nature - I don't think too much of them: first, a decent (read 'experienced') model / amateur will shy away from them, leaving only noobs and the desperate going for it - neither of which are YOUR best bet, re: reliability / commitmment.
Experienced models / amateurs want to partner with another company so that that company can take care of the revenue stream and the associated work required to maintain it, while they assume the role of "the tits." A percentage is nothing but a promise, and if you don't have the money to pay up front, then why should she believe you'll have it to pay her "tomorrow?"

Here's the only problem with doing it as a percentage - when she decides she doesn't want to do it anymore, do you own the images and videos now? You need to pay her whatever percentage will keep her motivated, but make sure your contract states that her content belongs to you and that it stays up even if she decides she doesn't want to be in the business anymore. You'll have to pay her as long as it stays up, or you'll need to put in a buyout clause for use only if she wants out. Say, you buy her out for x amount of dollars if she doesn't want to participate in the updates anymore so that there's no question who owns the content. Just some thoughts I had from experiences...Comment
