It's odd, because not ALL keywords and ads are missing. That coupled with the fact that there has been no notification of a change makes me wonder if it just isn't a glitch of some kind.
Would they seriously just pull down without notice ads that must generate hundreds of thousands of dollars a day?

If it were a glitch costing them thousands of dollars a day would they not have it fixed by now?

There's two threads running on this now, found this from the other one:
From an Adwords rep over on webmasterworld:
"Sorry to arrive at this discussion a bit late - I've had a morning full of commitments.
No, this is not a policy change, as correctly predicted by NoCarrier. Rather, it is a technical glitch. As you may well imagine, this is now a top priority around here - and will be addressed as quickly as possible.
I'll post with updates, as I have them. And in the meantime, thanks for your patience.

Gotta be a glitch....please God......gotta be a glitch.
This happens sometimes for me, all the adwords ads disappear for a while then come back. It usually doesn't last this long though, hopefully it's just a glitch.
Me too and xxx.esearchsex.com depending the search... it CANT be a policy change. I was promoting pharmacy keywords a few months back and Google changed policy and required advertisers to be a licenced pharmacy in the US (certified with squaretrade)... hard to comply, 90% of pharmacy ads were removed. That time they gave us a 60 days notice.

Same here, Norton is catching tons of malicious code trying to auto-install from these sites and they're all the same collection. Looks to be the same group running them.

Yes, WG, im seeing the same... can you check if you had really high CT rates for today in your adult keywords before they stopped? I see CT for 4.5% and 7.1% for kw's that i usually have 2% or 2.5%. Call me crazy but could it had been a HUGE hitbot that hitted most advertizers today and google stopped ads from running as prevention?

Think you're on to something here...yesterday 2.7%, last week 2.8%, last month 2.7%, today thus far.....10% - WOW! that's insane!

16.3% (holy shit!)
4.7%

Yeah, I'd say some malicious clicking is going on here considering I only average 2 - 3%.

WOW, that's exactly it then. I was right. Adult advertisers had been hitted by a massive clickbot (probably related to the group which kws live now) and due to the size of the attack and the impossibility to identify each kw but recognizing they all were adult related, Google made the decision to stop all adult ads until resolving the attack. I think they can do it since each account at Google is identified with tags (pharmacy, sport, adult, combinations, etc.)
Has anyone ever tried running Adwords with the partner netwrk (adsense) turned off? I would guess the fraud would be a lot lower as no one would be earning money off the fake clicks.
How much do the volumes drop when you turn the partner network / Adsense off?
