We moved from iBill to CCBill

Although I had long been an iBill defendor, after iBill-EU's last rate "adjustment" we finally decided to switch over to CCBill.

What I can say after two days is:

The move was very smooth, without any downtime

Sign-ups are almost unchanged

CCBill's support is much faster than iBill's

And their webmaster site .. well -- would you ever compare a RollsRoyce to a Volkswagen?

CCBill's affiliate program has also been installed on our site ... so sign-up and let the traffic flow!

    Hi Jennycards,

What is the difference in fees between the two?

I would imagine you still have ibill for the rebills of your old customers, so you have to still deal with them for a 1+ at least, correct? because you can't take your rebills with you.

We do not have a membership site, but we do recurring billing and were able to make a file of all the rebills and imported them into the database of the new processor. Is this not possible with billers like ibill and ccbill? If not, then why?

The reason is that we don't capture the user's credit card info, only ibill has this. We don't have a merchant account, otherwise we'd probably get the credit card info allowing us to move.

just so you know, we are able to import affiliate information into our affiliate system from other sources, to make your transition a bit smoother if needed. If you are interested in this, get in contact with our client support staff to learn more

taboo_gal, i would be surprised if any reputable 3rd party processor will allow you to do that. Many, including ourselves, have policies against that in the best interest of prudence. As one risk factor out of several I can touch on, you can?t verify whether, or to what level, the transaction was ?scrubbed? and the real-time transaction info is long gone, IP address, browser type, etc

iBill nor CCBill give you the credit card info to do this. Even if they did, you would have to get permission from the customer to get bill them under a different company. You can't just pass around credit card info.

We also just switched over to CCBill and we are extremely pleased. The affiliate reports are an amazing new tool and overall conversions are strong. Just wish we hadn't waited so long to really give CCBill a try!

I want to make sure that I am absolutely clear on something. In an attempt to not come across sounding like we are trying to solicit any processing business from any fellow third-party processor, many of whom I believe do an excellent job unilaterally, I want to emphasize that the aforementioned feature is not something that we actively ?push?. However, I had mentioned it due to the context of the initial post and wanted to make sure that my earlier post was clarified

We have our own merchant account and processor, rather than using a 3rd party. Therefore, we capture and maintain that information. So, I guess the customers really belong to ibill or ccbill in the case of 3rd party procesing, huh?

                                    ccbill is awsome

as an affiliate, most of the time I loose the ibill info before I get around promoting those sites, so I end up not promoting them and good luck finding outaccount info, they don't even send a confirmation mail.

iBill nor CCBill give you the credit card info to do this. Even if they did, you would have to get permission from the customer to get bill them under a different company. You can't just pass around credit card info.
more specifically, for those that don't know, there are two ways you can use ibill (and ccbill is probably the same), one way is if you apply for a merchant account, when I last checked during the Visa fee introduction, it was $1500 or something just to receive one, and you'd simply use ibill as the payment gateway, the second option is for you to use ibill's merchant account, which I suspect is what most people do

if you have your own merchant account, I would imagine you'd have access to the credit card info
