That about sums it up. The difference between this war and Viet Nam is that the latter was fought on a continent, whereas the current enemy is almost omniscient. Continental boundaries don't exist in relation to the war. It reminds me a little of what I read about the cold war, except I think this is far worse. Your nextdoor neighbour or, heaven forbid, your child's school teacher could be the enemy.
A lot of this, I have to say, is a good excuse to tighten both US and UK immigration procedures...
All of this is truly very sad. It just shows how primitive we are, enmasse.
