Buying lists in smaller blocks usually helps to avoid that problem... IE if someone has a 5 million person list for sale buying it in blocks of 500K or 1 million addys at a time and testing each chunk after you get it is a wise move to avoid getting alot of bad e-mails.

Translation for people in the US... don't use proxy's, keep remove lists and pay attention to your customer support.
