The first one is about as impressive as any dry ice "bomb" in that it is not at all. Also done the sodium in water thing. I have produced the triiodine crystals before as well as something simular to thermite and multiple Hydroxide reactions.

nope I come from an area where kids were known for getting bored and doing stupid shit like blowing things up. The smartest of us did it in controled areas and did not terrorize people and did one thing that made us brilliant by comparison. DID NOT TAPE IT.
I can not tell you how many kids went to jail between 98-01 in Mandeville for building, possessing and detonating explosives. I knew people who got federal time for mailboxes, attempted murder for having explosives in cars (they got so tired of the explosions that any bomb transported in a car was deemed car bomb) and thousands of dollars for property damage. For me it was the challange of purifying household chemicals and the creation of something, the last thing I wanted to do was blow up other people's stuff, if others felt the same way they would have been ok.
I do have a lot of my chemisty set in a box in the closet but there is no appeal to do things like that anymore so there it will stay.
