mail traffic is still great traffic, just have more competition to get into the inbox, get the mail opened, read and acted upon...
what is even funnier is people who get all white knuckled and pissed off about email pam but seem to have no problems with TGP submission spam, SE spam, etc. (I guess because a lot of those people can't make money mailing, so stick with what they can make money with)
