If the tattoo is a cry for attention, then yes, she'll probably have sex to get attention, too. my wife and i both have tattoos and piercings in inconspicuous places and in a sense are geared for our own personal jollies.
i can only speak for myself, but one of my tattoos is for a friend that died - since he can no longer be here i just feel that he can live through me and the tattoo is like the ink on a contract.
in this case, it's more of a symbolic lifelong pact that i'm enduring, not really self-mutilation because i have low self esteem. as anyone will tell you i am one cocky fuckface
i know that you are pretty adamant about your opinion and don't expect to change it or persuade you, plus i do agree a lot of people do it for the attention, but as with anything there is a minority that has reasons all their own.Comment

Regardless of whether or not they give it up any easier the simple fact is we still live in a day and age where they are judged that way.
My 17 year old niece who lives with me wants a tatoo for her 18th birthday. I have been trying to get her to understand this.
I have a tattoo so I do speak somewhat from experience.
Anyway my niece is not what you would call a "free thinker," she's more of the follower type...sad to say but it's true...she's the ultimate wall flower.
I think she is getting a tattoo for all the wrong reasons, mainly because I think she thinks it will make her stand out when all it will do is get her labeled and possibly even close doors that would otherwise be open for her...she wants to go into the medical field.
