If the sites big enough on any extension a typo can be worth it.
But in a speculative sense you're right in thinking it isn't the surest thing to hope that 1 out of 100 "x".tv's gets big enough to warrant it... not at $75 a domain anyways.Comment

75k on domains.... do you realize you just wasted 75k. think about it if you have say intel.tv they can sue and get there domain. pretty much anyone with a Company.com can get there .tv domain from any squater if the have the money to higher a lawyer.
case in point someone registered a .org for my company name i wrote a professional letter to the registaring nic company and they turned over the domain to me after proving corporate status and proof that the name is trademarked.Comment
