My girlfriend and I are home sick. I'm sitting on the couch surfing the 'net with my laptop. She's laying beside me watching that stupid Newlyweds show with Jessica Simpson and Nick whatever-the-fuck-his-last-name-is...

Anyway, that stupid beeeeetch just spent $1,400 for a set of sheets! I can't believe that?

Me? I'll stick with Walmart. They work just fine for me.

The simple fact is these people and not just Jessica Simpsoan and her husband live in a whole different world than us where that shit doesn't mean a hill of beans to them. I think the only reason someone like Nick might freak out about it is because he probably realises he's just a flash in the pan and his and her 15 minutes of fame is pretty close to being over.

I worked in Hollywood for many years and watched as people would spend ridiculously large amounts of cash on simple items like this. One of my bosses would go out and spend $30K one day shopping for the house for a variety of items ...not electronics or anything that would be really expensive but simple household items like bed spreads pillow cases etc.

These are the same kinds of people who would have a house in the "city," and one at "the beach," each costing them millions of dollars and only be 15 miles away from each other.

LOL, my ex-wife pulled that on me same exact thing. Came home with some kind of fancy egyptian cotton sheets from a store in Beverly Hills. I said how much and she said you don't want to know. I get the cc statement a few weeks later and it was like in your girls price range. Holy fuck $1000 for a couple sheets.

Funny thing though they are indeed incredible quality and so soft and I still have them.

So what? She makes a lot of money, her last album hit the top 10 I think on the Billboard charts, it's not like she's the only celeb who spends a lot of money. Ever watch "It's Good To Be...." or "The Fabulous Life Of..." On E or VH1? Those shows show how much celeb spends, lots of celebs like J-lo, Britney, spend WAAAAAAAAY more $ than Jessica does. Usually the outfits celebs wear are like 7k, 10k for haute couture like Prada, Christian Dior, and so forth for special events.

Just because the prices are outrageous and a lot of money to YOU, doesn't mean they are outrageous to celebs. That is just the lifestyle they are accustomed to. Jessica did buy Nick a watch for $55k for his B-day so obviously she can afford it.

$700 on bras and underwear is not that bad, that was for a few items from the Agent Provocateur underwear line, whereas Christina owns like almost everything from the store.

And what's with people saying she's "spoiled"? She works hard for her money, and earns much more than her husband since his album is a flop. She had a #1 hit single a few years ago, and she worked for everything she's had. Ok, just because she spends a lot of her "own" money that she worked for she is "spoiled"?
Other celebs spend MUUUCH more $ than Jessica, Jessica does not even compare in the income range of J-lo/Britney who are raking in over 30 mil a year. But the public can't see how the other celebs are spending their dough since the others don't have their own reality show, so everyone is always picking on Jessica. I've seen episodes of "It's Good To Be" where celebs will spend like 30k and up on ONE shopping spree, what Jessica spends is nothing compared to that.
