Everyone knows that when you make major changes, even if only for a test of a few days, you notify your webmasters. And not just with a message in the affiliate area, but by email and at least 2 weeks in advance. (or, better yet, you test it on new galleries or whatever so people won't have to edit/remove their old links)

Yet it happens often that f.e some sponsors remove some sites and don't notify the affiliates.
Or like it happened with Silver Cash, they changed "Celeb Hotel" from Celeb to the Pornstar niche a few months ago....and there were many people ( not me ) sending paid traffic to that site and wondering why it suddenly stopped converting.
It's not a good behavior, but it happens even with more reliable sponsors.
I am even not sure if ARS notifies theit affiliates via email of every major change they should know in advance. They simply post in in the "news" and on their message board.I don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

Regardless, the mere fact that they kissed and made up doesn't make the whole thing particularly less shady. If anything, it makes it worse... if it had been simple slander, a lawsuit would have cleared their name, and there would have been no reason to make friends with the person doing the slandering.
I don't know what happened, all I know is that their past looks a bit too tainted for my tastes. This hosted gallery testing stuff without an email notification to webmasters only adds to that
If you care to have all possible info about that issue Im sure you would have enough from those threads. I do care for obvious reasons, and right now being aware as much as possible what happened between them, I feel OK about Sunny. But if you want to increase your postcount and say crap all over the place, it the other case...

I highly doubt this change is major. This was done only for hosted galleries and only for foreign traffic. Regular links werent affected. If I would be on this guy's place I wouldnt cry like a bitch about sudden changes that completely caught his ass of guard and all world against him and shit... As for all the possible info, what was posted on GFY essentially comes down to "someone accused SD of having screwed him over, they threatened with legal action but didn't follow through, he continued making accusations, they talked and then kissed and made up".
Since I have no idea what solved the problem (an actual solution? legal threats? bribes? death threats? murdering easyfun and letting someone else create a nick and say he's him?), it remains shady from my point of view.
As for increasing my postcount: would have been more efficient.

Funny - Until yesterday, my stats were available at the Sunnydollars site. When checking Today, my stats were gone. Blanks and zero's all over. And NO stats from the dialers either - I surely wanted to look this section over, just to figure out how many of my surfers SD fucked untiol I removed their 351 galleries from my site.
Someone found my statement questionable, as if Sunny Dollars really is using an autodialer, loded by autodownload software.
I repeat again: YES, it was a persistant, malicious, auto downloading auto dialer of the worst kind. The kind that you must boot your Explorer to kill.
NO excuse for this outrageous practice by Sunny Dollars.

One of my sponsors has been redirecting "foreign" traffic to a sex movie site with the same b.s. They did not inform me; When I asked they admitted it but insisted it would benefit me in the long run. After 3+ months and a lot of redirected visitors I haven't made a single penny from dialer traffic. Nothing.
I recently told them not to redirect anything anymore and they obliged as
I believe that when a viewer clicks on a link it should take them where the link tells them (and where they expect to go). As soon as you blindly redirect a viewer his red flag goes up. Even if the guy is from a non-CC using country at least he got the site he expected on the click-through. (And though it may mean a lost sale he's probably more likely to visit your site/gallery again than someone redirected to auto-installs or dialers.)
Not informing your affiliates what are doing with their traffic is just wrong. Tell them and then let them make a choice. The "if you don't like it, leave" stance is more likely to make most of your affiliates walk.

If programs use dialers, please make it a decent one that will only shows up when surfers click the dialer option from the billing page and than integrate dialer payouts in the stats.

If you don't send them to a dialer, you're just giving away money, and that's bad business.
