Utilization of Google Ad Words

For those of you who have opted to take this avenue, is it a profitable investment? I've been debating whether or not to give it a shot, as opposed to just working on overall SE placement. What's the value of a Google ad word compared to a standard top SE listing?

Adwords is a up and coming tool. It's easy to make a profit if you know how to work PPC, and depending on your budget it can make a large profit.

Top google SE listings are still way better. I'd say about 10 x the traffic as adwords, although people who are actually searching because they want to spend $ are migrating to adwords.

I don't use a lot of adwords but have come to realise there are alot of little things to do to make adwords profitable.Properly utilising Google's Architecture is 1 thing.Identifying and targeting your selected keywords without having ones that have little ROI.Paying the minimun CPC also is important.Good sales copy in the ad makes a diffrence and then you got to hope some scumbag doesn''t bot a bot on your ads.Despite what Google says this still happens to send you over your limit pretty quickly.
Keep below the radar and the top listing seems to attrat less clickbot.

One guy who does know his stuff on adwords is WiredGuy.I read on of his posts on it and it was enlightening.

I figured this much. Seasoned surfers would probably realize that adwords are paid for, generically meaning that these can generally be singled out as reputable sellers.

I'm anxiously awaiting Wired Guy's reply. As far as the PPC problem, I often feel bad about clicking an ad word's link if I know I'm not going to buy... Even if it looks interesting, I skip it. Hopefully more people have that mentallity as well.

I know I could find this reading deep into the TOS, but is it alright to have an affiliate link as your link or is it manditory that you send the traffic to a site that you personally own?

I think they make you put "Affiliate" in your ad, but that may be Overture.

Hey Sherm, affiliate links are OK. I am sure about that. You just need to put "aff." some where in the ad. But I still see a lot of ppl not doing that.

Finding a high demand low supply niche with good placement and low ppc bid is pretty tough these days.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Thanks for the info. I've had a few ideas brewing for the last few weeks and I think I may utilize thes PPC ads in the near future. Hell... If you want to expand your bank account, you have to take risks!

One of the tricks to PPC is that you make more pushing Rev Share programs that retain well. Surfers that were looking for your niche tend to rebill for long periods.

The rebills are all gravy! (and will pay for an assload of additional PPC keywords)

Sales Copy is key - Let them know it is a pay program so you don't get a bunch of curiosity clicks - that shit can get out of hand quickly when you are paying for the clicks!
