Yeah, I used to get that a lot too. Some chick would sit there and tell ME what *the standard rate* was, like I gave a shit. I would just say to her "Well, if you're booked solid with work at that rate, then good luck to ya" and that would, as they say, be that.
I set my own rate. I have never gone by what someone says "the industry standard" is. It will go most of the day, with location changes and the MUA work, but I am paying 500.

I tell girls that I pay $100 an hour, but that rate is capped at $300 for the session ( 3 - 4 hours of work ). So I avoid the scenario of the model trying to to squeese an extra hour or two by being slow. I explain that I cap the rate to keep the session from lagging.
