Any country that has nuclear weapons poses a greater threat than those that do not. Do I think North Korea is a direct threat to the US? No, I think they're developing weapons so that they can be autonomous and so that they know countries like the US can't invade them like we did in Iraq and impose our rules. They want to be able to run their own country the way they want and the only way to do that in the modern world is to have nuclear weapons. Otherwise when we have an economic interest in their region or we have political ties with an opposing nation, they know we will do them like we did in Iraq. But when a country has a bomb just as deadly as your own, you think twice about attacking or invading them.
