Some myth buster said that the sound from a knuckle cracking is caused by the bursting of gas(air) in the joint.

This is just bullshit.

This link: claims a process called cavition creates the gas because the "pressure in the pocket it reduced". As if a popping bubble woudn't cause some new pressure. And with all those popping bubbles in my knee why doesn't my skin swelll up like a bubble?

If this is true then why don't my car break POP whe I release the pressure on my breaks. There's fluid there and the pressure changes.

I'm laughing my ass off.

I came up with a reason that is more plausable then air pockets.

Like so: The muscles and ligaments pull the join together and eventually squeeze out the fluid and forms a suction much like
a suction cup on a window pane. The joint must then be separated to "break the suction". When the suction is broken we get the same pop as pulling the suction cup off the window pane and
the fluid rushes <font size=5>Back In</font> and <font size=5>NOT</font> out. The suction must build up again as the fluid is pressed out and this is why you have to wait to crack the knuckle again.

The suction on the joint is what causes the stiff feeling that makes people desire to crack the joint.

There.

That other shit about air pockets is bullshit.

PS: the notion that an air bubble can burst inside a vacum is absurd.

Not even cocacola will fizz in a vacum. That's why you only see a small amount of fizz in the bottle where the air is after you shake it, but watch it fizz like a MoFo when you take off the top and break the small bit of vacum that is in the bottle. Without that air space in the bottle you would never know that the coke had been shaken until you broke the vacum. A vacum means no air, in case somebody doesn't know.

Your joints are infact a vacum and if they weren't then when you stood up too fast you'd experince a "knee fart".
