RE:Parents Protection Page Announced for July
Vice President Al Gore
" A responsible parent, would never let a new student driver, drive down the interstate without any supervision.
And neither should we allow young children - to roam unsupervised - on the information superhighway.
And that realization has been slow to dawn - on many families.
But I hope that one of the aftermaths, of the tragedy at Columbine, that woke up America, is to make more parents aware - that THEY have to play and AGGRESSIVE PROACTIVE role in protecting their children on the internet."

A MESSAGE TO:
VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE
FROM: [email protected]
It is easy to say parents, "supervise your children" but when new families get connected they are not given the KEYS to that vehicle on the information superhighway.
Give them the keys to the car by pressuring, the web browser makers to include as by default program install;
A ten megabyte default cache size.
A tool to search the cache easily to see where the browser has gone to.
A password protected delete cache button.
A mandatory first time login screen on how to use these and other parental features.
This is not a single one-step solution, but at the very least we should ensure that the keys to the car are FIRST given to the parents. Then possibly after, upon parental discretion, parents could decide if their sons and daughters were ok to drive alone on the internet.
