Let me enlighten you. Christianity holds that the Bible is the actual word of God. Something similar goes for Islam and Judaism.
That's the whole problem of religion. It almost always follows a set of rather random and often outdated dogmas. That is a problem not caused by people misinterpreting religions, but by the very essence of most religions.
As for something to "separate us from being animals"... rationality does a much better job at that than religion.

then i will go further back into "mythology", egyptians, greeks, mayans, etc....
all great cultures followed religion. religion establishes order and creates the building blocks of a stable society.
marxism/communism tried to abolish religion amongst society and still failed.
i've drifted off from the original purpose of this thread.
to sum up how i feel, i'm tired of people stereotyping people of certain religions. instead of lumping everyone into a whole, they should take the time to educate themselves fully about that religion.
