    fax software

    is there any kind of fax software I can use with a cable modem? I have a printer with scanner built in it, but no built in fax. I'm on a cable modem so I can't use a dial up fax in a 56k modem..

    I searched around and all I found were several places that you have to sign up and pay a monthly fee (imagine that )

    But I can't belive there is nothing to send with via a normal cable modem.. anybody have anything?

              why would someone let you use thier phone lines for free?
              efax lets you recieve for free but you have to pay to send faxes.

                  well there is voice over IP technology out there sites like dialpad.com , net2phone and a few others all use this... they allow you to call someone using your computer while they talk on the phone...

                  I figured in this day and age there would be a way to do faxes like this as well. I found a few but most were pay like efax... I did find one place that allows you to send for free but only as text files and no images..

                  I need to send a copy of a form so I'll just hit kinkos in a few.
