Thats a poor analogy. A Jedi student goes through formal training and is then considered to be a Jedi. The new Jedi is then assigned to be a Padawan to an experienced Jedi, and this relationship continues until the Master feels his Padawan is fully trained. Anakin achieved Jedi status the moment he became Padawan to Obi Wan.Comment
