I don't know about the world, but I can tell you how my life has changed....
I had a C-section at 1pm on September 11th, 2001, and I had a perfectly healthy baby girl that my husband and I named Emily. It was bittersweet....nursing her throughout the nights, watching the tragic aftermath of what happened the day she was born, and I wondered what kind of world I had brought her into. We had our second daughter last July and I'm still not sure, especially now, with our third natural disaster in four weeks looming. What I have figured out though, is that the best way to have a positive impact on the future, is to raise my kids with strong convictions and the guts to question irresponsible authority, and just as importantly, the capability to understand it when they see it. And as we all know, kids learn by example, so I'm doing my best to practice what I preach.
