                  close it and restart, may be have to do it a couple of times and all will return.. happened to me a couple of times in the last month or so.

                                      just re-size the messenger in and out a little bit and it'll be fine.

                                      (lately ive been getting ERROR messages when closing it out....hmm)

                                                                      I had that one time...needed to reinstall icq. But normally your ICQ list is saved on their server, so when you reinstall you won't lose your contacts...
