    Issue with taxes

I just got a wad of 1099s in today. I document every check that I get throughout the year just like a good boy does, so why do I have differences with my 1099s I received. Most of them are dead perfect. But there are two or three that are off by a few hundred. I am already going to be dropping a load on taxes, I don't need more leaving my pocket.

How many of you have the same problem? Is this common?

    Shouldnt be.

I am sure you can "find" more expenses to offset a few hundred on 1099s though.

Request a statement from those in question and copies of checks.

They may be padding their payouts to lower thier taxes!

The 1099s you have received should have been calculated by the date the check was issued. Alot of companies make the mistake of using the date of the period the check was for.

Another thing that might cause the discrepancy is if you are adding your numbers up by the date you received them/deposited them, etc rather than the date they issued the check.

I always make sure I record the date on the check. My records are tight in the checks I receive. I make no mistakes. I double check everyone, so they must be padding somewhere, I guess it is time to address this issue with the sponsor.
