I mean by planting advertisement filmclips there and stuff.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

I looked into that, but the program I looked at didn't quote any rates / payout prices so I worked out it's a con....

I think for the stuff that I am peddling that would be a great form of marketing. Just dimp a couple of short movies and let the peeps spread them in their peep2peep programs

I would use a forwarding url edited into the video I think.

I do not think kidnapping the surfers browser is a good idea - shit I would delete that faster than you could say shit.

You're going to have a hard time getting surfers to download a separate program for porn, and harder to keep them using it when they realize it's all promo clips for sponsors. They already have a P2P program to get anything they want including massive amounts of porn.

If you upload a sponsor clip with your URL tacked on that just lets them sample the goods to see if they want to go back to their P2P of choice and download the whole thing, likely it's there.

Perhaps if you have content you've produced yourself and it's not been affiliated you may have some luck using it to get traffic to your site.

Don't count on hahahahahaed URLs popping open your website as the video plays, that option has been turned off by default on WMP downloads for some time now.

Well, since I am pushing a sex toy I still think it would work:

They cannot download Miss Softie from their P2P.

Getting traffic for a product might be the only way to really make $ from file sharing With some decent clips you might actually do something with that.

I havent had a chance to run the new version or check it out yet.

The idea is great , i just hope the guys running the show can clean it up a bit.

I was sent some file thru swapbucks that they claim werent sent thru the network even though i know they were. This worries me. If they cant keep track of what is being sent properly then security is rather poor.

When i re-run the new version and see if they have worked out the bugs i will re-report..

                                    A few problems i noticed..

They dont cap your space, so your hd will fill up until your computer crashes.

There are almost no options to set.

It loads at startup with no easy way to remove this from the options of the program.

Part of the problem is there are no rates

It sort of a big pot that you share..

They take your amount of files you have shared and comper it with the rest of the people sharing . then they figure out what percentage you have sent, then they take the cash and divy it up..

I think this is a bit confusing and needs to be made alot more clear.

Check out the old issues of Sexswap for some tips on P2P --
                                        http://trix.sexswap.com/

Here's one in particular that goes into some detail on the mpeg URL popper that used to work in Windows Media Player:
                                        http://trix.sexswap.com/swap282.html

As maridgras mentioned, this feature no longer works in the newer version of WMP -- but you might get some good tips on P2P in general by reading some of these old issues. Man I miss sexswap sometimes

I'm sure there is money to be made in P2P, but you have to definitely have some unique content that will make the surfer want to visit a URL stamped onto a video file, and you definitely need one hell of a fast upload connection to push those files out.

Post back with your progess. It will be interesting to see if anybody makes progress with this stuff... as I know a few that have tried, but say it's more of an uphill battle than you would think.

                                          Hey Guys,
I know I do not post here too often, I lurk a lot, and I read the GFY newsletter often.

But, I can contribute on this one.

speaking from experience on the p2p issue, as far as using it as a marketing tool and to drive traffic, it works pretty well. I realize that the original question was intended to ask about swapbucks new program...however some points on traditional p2p were brought up so I thought I would address them.

I have used p2p traffic to essentially build my member base from the initial aunch of my paysite (over a year ago) ...I still get emails from p2p users who have downloaded my files -- asking for additional content and how they can find the website to sign up, etc. (even tho my vids have the web address in the vid...lol, they are probably too consumed with jerking off to realize it)

And it really does not require much bandwidth either, make sure to compress and encode the file to a size that is easily uploaded, like 10-15 MB's. I use kazaa light, no spyware, and I let it run when I'm sleeping or away from home...vids upload right from your folder)
Also, make sure to keyword the file and give it a cool title so it becomes searchable over the networks.
Yes - the vid shoud be good quality, and give some reason for the surfer to want to go to your site, a call to action. Offer a promo at the end of the vid and you'll get the hits and sign ups.
Also, watermarking the vid is a great idea..branding and reinforcement -- works well, especially if the file is going to be downloaded, emailed and shared over and over again.

As far as Swapbucks is concerned...I just signed up for the program....I'm curious to see how well it works...they offer two levels of participation...as a provider of content (which I will check out and gladly report back to here the results) and as a "peermaster" - which i think is where the software comes in to play.

Hope my post was helpful to anyone.

                                            Swapbucks sucks....

I downloaded their program, watched it download more than 80 mb of files, ppl used to download from my computer all the time and the damn stats showed nothing.... As far as I'm concerned it's a scam... I mailed their support twice with no response, so I just deleted their shitty program...

                                            Fucking scammers...
                                            I'm just a newbie.

Some very nice tips Capt Porn... actually awhile back I tried out some P2P, and the bandwidth was an issue for me. Running it over my crappy Adelphia cable line was just painstaking -- and I found there were more cancelled downloads than anything.

Adelphia has a very nice download speed -- I literally test over 3mbit for downloads. But upload is around 200kbps, which translates into about 15k true upload speed. So this is what totally killed my testing... the upload speeds were just way too slow to make an significant traffic impact.

mistersoft..... If you're really into this and want to dish out a couple bucks, you could always pick up a dedicated windows server from Rackshack (http://www.ev1servers.net/english/index.asp) -- then you would have a shitload of bandwidth available to you. And of course you could run Kazaa Lite or any other Windows P2P software directly on this machine.

There are *nix versions of the P2P client, and some hacked for optimal keyword searches. But then this whole thing starts becoming real work I imagine you probably want to keep it simple and stick with the Windows stuff.

In any case.. hit me up on ICQ (number is in sig) if you get a chance. I would like to talk to you a little bit about some of this stuff. You've sparked my interest in this stuff again
