I'm just glad they picked: Christian Bale to play Bruce Wayne. if you haven't seen him in Equilibrium (2002), you need to. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/
a great sci-fi movie. maybe what matrix 2 & 3 should have been.
as far as the batmobile goes, it is a nice change. he needs a war machine, not a glorified supercar. plus, with the director of "Memento" at the helm, it should be a dark & gritty movie. looking forward to it. here's hoping they don't kill the franchise for good. and let's hope it's not like Catwoman.

Holy headlights! Batman has a new ride, and it's all bat-pimped out.
The new 2005 Batmobile, unveiled at the Javits Center yesterday, looks something like a cross between a Lamborghini and an armadillo with a jet-pack.
It cost millions to design and produce, and it actually works, its creators at Warner Bros. said.
"It has to get up to 220 mph to get airborne, but then it can jump 20, 30, maybe 40 feet," said Charles Roven, producer of the upcoming Batman movie.
Forty feet?
"We haven't filmed it jumping yet. That scene will be coming up in the next few weeks," Roven said.
Warner Bros. hired a 24-hour security detail to ensure the new Batmobile doesn't fall into the wrong hands, say those of the Penguin, Riddler or any of Gotham's real-life criminal masterminds.
Guard Frank Carbone wore a pinky ring and a scowl as he protected the Batmobile's powerful jet engine, radar-evading electric controls and oversized "super swamper" tires.
"It's much cooler than I expected," said Robert Emmer, 19, a student at the School of Visual Arts.
"It looks like a black toad," said Chris Tegeler, 38. "I'd like to see it jump something, maybe the Intrepid."
The upcoming Batman movie, called "Batman Begins," stars Christian Bale of "American Psycho" and will hit theaters next summer. The big-budget Warner Bros. flick examines Bruce Wayne's transformation into Batman after his parents are slain.
Studio execs said they weren't able to run live demonstrations yesterday because they had to drain the Batmobile's jet fuel for shipment.
Plus, said Warner Bros. President Dan Romanelli, "We might get a ticket. And I don't think it has air conditioning."
I've read the script, and in the context of the story, this Batmobile/Tumbler fits extremely well. Remember, this is an origins tale. This Batmobile was originally some prototype tank for the military built by Wayne Enterprises while Bruce was *away*. It's not meant to be the classic, sleek, Batmobile, it's meant to be a friggin tank! And in the script, it works. That's all you need to know unless you would like to read the script for yourself
Does anyone else find 220 mph on that chasis and lack of aero difficult to swallow.
It takes brute power more than aero to make a car fast but it takes a lot of skill and physics know how to push a mass through air to a top speed that high. I might have believed it when I could not see all the air pockets etc in that dark picture but the one with the vehicle at the car show blows it. There is no way to make a vehicle with that many holes, with those huge tires, with that lack of chasis strength hit speeds that high and the LAST thing you do going that fast is jump it, I cry Shinannigans!
Biggest thing in vehicles and performance is weight/vs thrust. I see this big rocket orifice on the back so PERHAPS they are using a jet turbine for thrust but when you do that you need aerodynamics to keep the vehicle planted on the surface you are running or it simply starts going end over end. Big Foot can jump 40 feet but it sure as hell aint goin 220 mph
even ADULTS need TOYS

oh, well. the car is just right to start with. this movie starts from the beginning when bruce lost his parents that's why the design is just ok. but, hope they don't mess with the script like what they did in the past batman movies.
well, if its coming out of the prequel I understand where this monster is coming from. i also hope that it could do what it was supposed to. all in all, one funky monster ride! i want one, does it come in chrome? hehe...

I'm sure the movie will end with Bruce designing a sleeker batmobile that we're all use to seeing. I just hope the whole movie is as dark & gritty as "year one" / "dark knight".
