    How do I change my browser's 404 page that was changed by Spyware?

    How do I change my browser's 404 page that was changed by Spyware?

    I've removed the Spyware itself but the 404 page keeps taking me to a damn PPC search engine without popup hell.

    Where is the setting on my PC where that URL is located?

              what this means is still have something installed. Have you run spybot? did you updated it before running? try this first.

                              download "hijack this" software.

                              I never had that happen till i got the fucking google toolbar . Toolbars are easy to hijack with spyware. I never even had a problem with pop ups till i got the pop up blocker.. what a pain in the ass. Anyhows, this program will bring up a bunch of files. Not all the files will need to be erased or fixed .

                              Look for files that start with "bho".. these are the main ones to get rid of. when you click on each file..it tells you what it is and what its purpose it.

                              good luck.. spyware fucking sucks !

                                      Thanks for the advice everyone but my computer is clean of all Spyware. I just still have my 404 page redirecting which must be a setting that was changed by the Spyware. I'm just wondering where that setting is located.

                                          maybe something in the registry. if you're a risk taker, go to Start / Run , then type in "regedit", be careful here because you can royally screw up your system if you edit the wrong thing. Do a file / find, put in the site it redirects to, and try to locate the registry entry that it's using, then if you feel lucky change it.
