Thanks to Usenet, trolling became the first literary art form generated soley by the internet. Authough people pretend to despise trolls, everyone tries it sooner or later. Most just come off as obvious, petty, and annoying, and get ignored. Few have the broad knowledge and intuitive understanding of behavioral psychology to troll well even once or twice, and people who can do it consistently are very rare.
Labret would have been a trolling God on Usenet. And as anyone who understands that medium knows, that is a high compliment.Comment

I haven't seen anyone as good in deftly transforming usually boring threads to comedic gold. Your troll pieces are fucking amazing [Canada, dogs, women, Israel, SleazyDream logo, etc]. Unlike what people would like to think, good trolling skills usually require a high level of intelligence, attention to detail, and sophistication. As a big USENET poster and reader, I've developed an eye for excellent trolling skills...and you are definitely in the top 5. Its not a put down...its one hell of a compliment. It takes intelligence and a fair understanding of human relations/egos how to "push buttons" and perform "psychic judo" with the target's words and past posts.
While I don't agree with your professed political/moral values, I believe that this is just part of your arsenal in pushing people to either 1) agree with extreme and pungent ideas [good for a laugh] or 2) bait and tease those who take themselves too seriously [just as funny but with a little more pathos]. People who don't understand your literary work may find it easy to "hate" you [see the the "hated webmaster" thread] but I for one see you as a refreshing breath of fresh air in an online forum where people worry too much as to who they might offend or what they are perceived as. There is a 40's - 50's Howard Roark like patina to your online attitude. You basically drive a huge 1950's gaz guzzling leviathan with gaudy fins, chowing down on bloody red steaks, belching diesel in the air while running down fur seals and PC era sensibilities. You are a walking satire of those who insist that we color within the lines and fine tune what we say.
