So just be ready for it, and try to keep in mind that this is a situation that nobody handles very well, and that what may appear to be a lack of interest in your well-being on the part of friends, family and acquaintences may just be their own overwhelming sense of grief and anger at not being able to do anything to make it
better; it is nothing personal.
It is fairly common for people in your situation to feel somewhat abandoned by their friends for the above reasons- know that it isn't the case, and that they might be silent because they just can't think of anything to say and want to give you as much space as possible to grieve in your own way..
