I bought Madden 2004 last year and hated it. Every team whooped my ass. This year I bought ESPN (they dropped the $ to $20 to grab market from Madden). I like it much better, the plays look totally real (the crowds don't though), and I can actually compete.

Ive heard both good and bad about madden 2005.
How sometimes it's not realistic from the previous season..
But it's still the best online football game out there

From the all reviews I've read ESPN NFL 2K5 is better than Madden 2005.Comment

Yeah I bought Madden first last year and played for awhile till ESPN came out and didn't look back... NFL2k5 is great and I am really addicted... I don't plan on buying Madden this year, cuz I'm pretty sure I won't play it much...Comment

Yeah after you play a few games on xbox live, you don't want to go back to playing the computer... the computer is so easyOriginally posted by makefuckingmoney

I dunno about madden vs NFL2k5
but I will say that ESPN NHL 2k5 destroys EA's NHL 2005
It's hella good and has great mini games, kind of like Mario Party but for hockey.
Plus it's $19.99, a killer price point! Why pay $49 for madden or NHL when you've got Sega and ESPN for 2/5th the cost?Comment

Haven't seen NFL2k5 yet, But Ive been playing MADDEN2005 for the past few days on my PS2... and it fucking rocks.
I've also played it on XBOX and it rocks only slightly less on account that I hate the fucking XBOX controllers with a passion... so much so that I completely decided not to buy an XBOX purely based on the controller.

I've been a madden junkie since the beggining, had it on pre-order this year when i saw that espn 2k5 was only 20$, so i picked it up. I ended up getting madden as well, and i hate to admit it but i think espn is way better than maddenAdult Merchant Accounts & Chargeback Management Solutions

I won an Xbox from XXXCash a few months ago and the first game I bought was NFL 2K5. Great game. Took me a while to figure out how to save a season in franchise mode. Took the Titans all the way thru a season on pro difficulty, broke all kinds of records, had killer stats. 14-2 record. Won the division, had home field advantage and started the playoffs. First thing I noticed was my fucking quarterback (Steve McNair) was gone. WTF?? No injury report or nothing! Pissed me right off. Tennessee's backup QB sucks ass. And in the first quarter they took out my running back. Fuckers. Needless to say I lost to Buffalo by 4 TD's.
But il be starting a new season soon. This fucking game is addictive as hell!

If you were getting your but kicked, practice more or lower the level of competition ( you can adjust the level of computer play).Comment

Almost every review and person I know says that ESPN is better. The only people that say Madden is better are the ones that will die by Madden - who in reality have probably either never played ESPN or are closet ESPN fans.

Also check out the reviews on http://www.gamespot.com/. It's best to get and play both and decide on your own, though.

The people at Sega are marketing masters. Not only did they drop the price down below $20, but they pulled another fast one by releasing it a month early, completely owning Madden.Originally posted by Lensman

I own both and I can honestly say that ESPN NFL 2K5 is superior to Madden 2005 in every way.
Hey Lens, if you got XBox Live and wanna play a game, hit me up.

See i love madden. Madden 2005 i own and it goes into huge depth for franchise mode. It offers newspaper articles for the league and locally. It also give you email options where coaches and players email you if they want to be traded or there unhappy. I like madden 2005 a ton better. Theres not much difference in the play accept for the big hit option. But its still really fun. I have not yet played the other game yet. ESPN2k5. I might go and rent it lensman!Originally posted by Lensman
