    Domain transfer?

If you were to transfer (sell) a domain to someone how would you go about?

Having a thrid-party to hold both money and domain or what?

    Trust.....?

Directnic started a new escrow service. I forgot the name, but it should be on their site. I have sold domains and have had the person open a directnic account. Once they send me the money - they attempt to transfer the domain - and I approve it.

You can go to Go-Daddy and read their transfer page. They do it for cheap.

If you are talking about a big money domain though... you should go to http://www.Escrow.com. They will take the money from the buyer and hold it for them, then give it to you when the buyer certifies he has the item. Then they can send the money to you via wire, check, etc.

I don't know if they've ever done domain names but they should be able to. Their fee is 1% of the cost of the item.

I've only used them to sell physical items but they worked fine for me. Ask them and find out if they can do the same for intellectual property. Then let us know!
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...
