It's the same as me contracting you to build a garage and you got 1k into it then once I decide I don't want to pay more you come and take away what I already paid for and kept the 1k to yourself.
This is not how business is done man. I'd never do biz with the client in question that's for sure, but you can't keep what he already paid you and hand himm over less of what $1k can buy him. It's like if a client hired a designer to build a 2000 dollar tour, then 1000 into it decided that half the tour built is fine. Do you think that the designer would have any right to keep the 1k tour and the money?
You will lose money because you let traffic drop. I understand but you made a mistake just as much as he did and it's up to you to give him $1k worth of TGP. it's not like he didn't pay at all. Of course, don't give him a 100k. That would just be mental

WHen you have a traffic flowing a site things work right, when you have to sundely sotp the feeder traffic will drop.
