I always like it when a sponsor gives preferential treatment to people. So you they're willing to help out, but me, I'm stuck working like an idiot, just because they can't be bothered to put up that Excel spreadsheet for everyone to use? TCG just made my shitlist!

I just read some of your replies in this thread and laugh. If a sponsor can do everything they can to make it easy for webmasers to push their product... WHY NOT DO IT?


Is it not easier to have the sponsor do all the work necessary, rather than 100 webmasters clicking their ass off to get all the galleries they need?

With so many people using Comus now, I'm really surprised I haven't seen more sponsors who support *ALL* the required fields this script needs.

Not only do they have to go out and spends $1,000's on new content each month so the site will retain..but now they must spend $1,000's on new gallery designs that they then host for you....but wait that's not enough....they now must make it even easier..sure any sponsor is probably gonna do that if asked nicely...but come the fuck on when does it stop?

What else are people going to ask for?

How many variations of this list must they make and for how many different scripts?

Sponsors are bending over backwards in the adult realm to earn new and keep old affiliates...shit they make it too easy so any fool can come in here and start up without spending a dime.

Like a few grand is going to make or break a sponsor. Cash program owners are the ones making the real money, not the affiliates.

Would you rather pay your designer to make a thumb of every sponsor hosted gallery, or lose about 10,000 in sales a month bc. you don't have this option in your wm area?

Now you want them to make you thumbs? So how many variations on thumbs do they have to make now?

If they want to go balls out and hold your hand every step of the way then by all means let them do it...but when the hell are some of these people gonna do their own fucking jobs?

Of course affiliates have wanted this for a while now. You have a system in place where you prompt what size they want the thumb and then the output is the size they wanted. Of course all in a zip file so they can D/L or import into their script.

When they no longer need our traffic. Until then, PUT OUT, BITCHES!

Sponsors are a dime a dozen these days. Do you have any idea how many different sponsors there are out there? It's called competition, the ones who make it easiest for their webmasters to promote them end up with the biggest piece of the pie. Volume will get them scale advantages as well, in all areas, content, hosting, scripting, you name it. So stop whining, ain't gonna do one bit of good. Sponsors started this, now they need to play.

Just a few years back there where no such thing as free content or hosted galleries. I think discussions like these are getting rediculous. To me it sounds like you just want sponsors sending you huge checks every week while you don't have to do nothing.

Isn't the point that if a sponsor is going to go down a particular marketing route, it is in HIS interest to do the job properly?

Put it in perspective: there are surely many more, but I'm aware of over 300 sponsors with 40,000+ hosted galleries between them. If I could completely process a gallery per minute [and you can't come close to that with the vast majority of sponsors], that lot would take two months working 12-hours a day, 7 days a week. Then add in most of a day every week to stay on top of additions and deletions...

TGP's simply don't need that many galleries or even gain anything from attempting to use them all, so it is inevitable they are going to be selective. These days you can weed out the sponsors with crap galleries, those who insist on using multiple versions of the same gallery, and the ones with codes that stop your software scanning the gallery to create thumbs, and there are still too many. So you skip past the ones which make you jump through hoops to collect the URL's, etc., etc.

There must have been a half-dozen threads here on this topic so far this year and slowly sponsors are taking notice. I remember 10,000 FHG's being a kind of landmark: now more than that come with decent descriptions. There's a long way to go, but sponsors who want their FHG programs to be successful are going to have to make them competitive and that should ensure progress.

Don't forget too that most of the complaints about FHG's don't need any serious money to resolve. They require only that when the lists are being coded, whoever is doing it puts himself in the place of the webmaster he wants to use them. If the list cannot be imported easily into all the popular TGP scripts and provide at least the information the big TGP's routinely display, he should go back to the drawing board.

sue, you forget one thing: THE SPONSORS STARTED THIS! Now, since they did, as jayeff said, the least they can do is do the job properly. If someone "helps" you, but the result of that help is really more work for you, is that some help you'd appreciate?

Alot of webmasters dont like to copy one url at a time, I am one of them.
And why should they when they can go to another sponsor and copy a full list of URLs ready to import?

word!! i agree! i was just going through the same problem last week when i did a fake TGP of mine and was looking for hosted galleries.

i liked the way PussyCash & TrumpCash has theirs layed out! but was very disappointed in my other sponsers though.

An example of being so near and yet so far, is Pimproll... they have gone out of their way to provide options for their galleries, most have descriptions, and there are different ways to get the links, including a downloadable text file.

But within that file, the links are provided in the format:
Gallery 01 code: URL
Gallery 01 description: blah blah
Gallery 01 type: Type

Maybe someone can figure out an easier way than I did to make that info usable. But surely it wouldn't have been any harder for the coder to present the info as a delimited file without all the Gallery 01 stuff, each gallery on a single line?

Excellent. I like thefact you give us the option to chose ta either a short and/or long description, the delimiter and the order of the link.
The only thing missing, I think a date range so we can only grab new FHG since our last vist.
